ANYONE who has glugged down a huge can of Relentless will be familiar with the boost it gives.
Some of this comes from the 52 grams of sugar in a 500ml can (from real fruit juice). But now here comes a sugar free version called LIBERTUS which aims to give the same ‘mental focus’ but with only 20 calories.
This is achieved by retaining the measures of caffeine, taurine and glucuronolactone found in the ‘full fat’ versions. Those unfamiliar with glucuronolactone might be interested to know that it’s produced by the liver when glucose is broken down. It’s also found in some plants. It’s included in energy drinks because it is thought to fight fatigue and give a sense of well-being.
Relentless has been supporting key athletes over the past year, in particular the snowboarder Xavier de le Rue in a series of TimeLine films showing him snowboard in unique locations all over the world. And Relentless has just announced that Xavier’s younger brother – Victor – has been signed on too and he will also be involved in making films showcasing his awesome freestyle skills. More on Victor in next week’s digital issue, Week 9.
