If you’ve snapped an image this year that you think captures a perfect moment in an everyday adventure then you should think about entering it in the 2017 Kendal Mountain Photography Competition, presented by Danner.
The prestigious competition has become one of the highlights of the Kendal Mountain Festival and every year it continues to raise the bar in discovering new talent.
Shortlisted entries will be exhibited in key locations and will be rewarded with top prizes from Danner and the supporting sponsors F-stop and SmugMug.
Categories include:
1) Adventure in the Outdoors
2) Mountain Landscapes
3) Young Photographer – 18 years and under – ‘Adventure on your doorstep’
4) Smartphone – ‘Friends in High Places’
5) Fido on the Fells (Canine shots up high)
6) Urban Outdoors
+ People’s Choice Award
+ Grand Prize (Overall Winner)
The winner of last year’s Mountain Landscapes category was “Helvellyn Layers” by Dan Thwaites.
The Judging Panel will be overseen by the esteemed US photographer Jim Herrington alongside Kendal Mountain Festival and Danner representatives.
Judges will be looking for images that capture those perfect moments in daily adventures, either in the Wilderness or Urban landscapes.
The GRAND PRIZE WINNER will receive a 4-star, 2 night, half board stay for two in Danner’s partner hotel, the luxurious Huss Hotel in Switzerland. Plus Danner boots.

The deadline for entries to the photo competition is midnight on Sunday 5th November 2017.
