For a mere 149 Euros you can enjoy what’s quite possibly one of the best mountain festivals in the calendar.
The North Face Mountain Festival goes from strength to strength and returns to the Dolomites in Italy during the last weekend of July – just a month to go.
The organisers say it is “a long weekend that will leave your muscles tired, your spirits high, and your heart content” and this is the unique thing; you get to choose from hikes, trail runs and climbs to take part in, some of them with mountain guides and some of them with The North Face athletes. The activities are divided into different skill levels and you will be able to pre-register for these online.
The ticket price includes camping (pack your own tent), all meals; a dinner on the Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on the Saturday and a breakfast on the Sunday, all of the basecamp workshops and talks and evening entertainment such as talks, live music and movies.
On the Saturday night Conrad Anker and David Lama will tell the tale of their second attempt on Lunag Ri (22,660 feet), one of the Himalayas’ last unclimbed peaks. During this climb, Anker had a blockage in the aorta in his heart, which cut short their attempt. Following this the band Gallowstreet will turn up the sound, hit the strings, and take the party into the early hours.
