This year Montane received a license to use Gore-Tex fabric in its outdoor kit and now the brand has just shown us some of the jackets and gloves made from it ahead of their launch on Monday.
Listed under the Gore-Tex® Pro category (for intense activities and extreme weather conditions) comes the Endurance Pro Jacket (£430) and the Alpine Pro Jacket (£330). The Endurance Pro is a jacket for extreme conditions featuring pretty much everything you can imagine in it, whereas the Alpine Pro is lighter in weight and classed as a technical shell.
Under the Gore® C-Knit™ backer technology category comes the Surge Jacket (£300) which is a lightweight and breathable mountain shell about £100 less than the Endurance Pro and slightly cheaper than the Alpine Pro jacket.
Finally, coming under the Gore-Tex® Active category is the Spine Jacket (£250), which is a minimalist, breathable mountain trail running shell, taking its name from the Montane-sponsored Spine Race no doubt.
Montane has also made a pair of Gore-Tex gloves called the Icemelt Thermo Glove (£90) which is made from softshell fabric and has a goat leather palm. Inside is a Gore-Tex® inner layer and there’s PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation on the back of hand and fingers for warmth.
