Fancy a cheap flight to go skiing in Sweden this winter?
As from Sunday 11th December we will be able to fly from London Gatwick to Åre Östersund Airport, just a hour’s drive from the renowned ski resorts of Åre and Vemdalen.
The new route is easyJet’s first ever service from the UK to Sweden and will operate once per week on Sundays during the winter season.
Åre has some of Scandinavia’s best downhill skiing. There’s also ice skating, dog sledding, a vibrant après-ski nightlife and an incredible culinary scene. In fact, Östersund is one of only five UNESCO-designated cities of gastronomy.
And one of the world’s best restaurants Fäviken is located just an hour from the airport.
The region is called Jämtland Härjedalen and for the coming season there will be a new feature called Sami Land – a new experience for all ages to learn about the Sami culture over a reindeer lunch by a log fire and the launch of Valle ski school – an opportunity for kids to learn to ski the Swedish way, with the help of Valle the Snowman.
