The North Face Summit Series is back for FW17, but there’s now clothing for three categories of adventuring: Alpinism, Expedition Climbing and Ski Mountaineering.
Many of the items have been worn and tested by TNF athletes Simone Moro & Tamara Lunger and David Göttler & Hervé Barmasse in the mountain ranges of Kanchenjunga and Shishapangma.
The designers have aimed to make clothing that’s ultra-light-weight, minimal and highly packable. Fitwise, all items allow for speed of movement on the mountain and are highly breathable for when you’re working hard (sweating).
Taking the Ski Mountaineering Collection as an example, there are L1 baselayers that deliver targeted warmth then a L2 Proprius Grid Fleece Hoodie, L3 Proprius Primaloft® Hoodie and lightweight and packable L3 Propius Down Hoodie; completed by the L5 Proprius GTX® Active Jacket – all coming in an array of disruptive mountain colours, designed for better visibility and mountain safety.
