Level Water is once again hosting wild swimming events after a two year break.
The events include the Dart 10k, the Bantham Swoosh and a new Bantham Boomerang, which will be an exhilarating sunset tidal swim.
Swim Collective events are some of the finest river swim challenges in the UK, with all profits going to Level Water – a national charity who use the power of swimming to support children with disabilities.
Fancy a dip? Here are the dates for your diary…
NEW for 2022 – Bantham Boomerang – Friday 15th July
Making its debut for 2022, the 7-10km Bantham Boomerang is an all-new sunset adventure. The ‘big sister’ event to the Swoosh, participants start from Bantham Beach at dusk and are challenged to swim upriver as far as they can before the tide turns. When the tide turns, so do they – returning downriver with the outgoing tide and finishing off with a celebratory beach BBQ and optional overnight camping.
Bantham Swoosh – Saturday 16th July
A world class 6km swim, the Swoosh takes place at Bantham Beach. Set in the shallow, sandy bottomed Avon estuary, swimmers can enjoy clear views of the riverbed for much of the route. Named for its invigorating finish, the event ends in a ‘swoosh’, as the tide funnels through a narrow section of the river, propelling you up to four times your usual swimming speed – the perfect introduction to open water swimming.
Dart10k – Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September
Covering one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the UK, the Dart 10k is the first and, arguably, the finest 10k swim on the calendar. Join hundreds of swimmers as they take a soulful swim down the River Dart, enjoying local landmarks including Cormorant Tree, Sharpham boathouse and Bow Creek. A journey – not a race – Dart 10k is noted for its spirit of inclusion and sense of community.
