RICHA brought out GORE-TEX gloves last year and now 12 months on the brand has finally brought out some jackets and trousers with GORE-TEX in them.
(Coincidentally GORE-TEX is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has also started working with Montane).
Turns out that the relationship with GORE-TEX has been seven years in the making and Richa’s Purchase and Sales Director, Stijn Rigaux says: “These new jackets and trousers are the result of a huge amount of hard work and the two companies’ combined technical knowhow.”
There are four new jackets on offer (and two pairs of trousers) and all will be on sale at the start of the winter riding season.
First up is the top-of-the-range Atlantic jacket and trousers which have an aramid reinforced fabric called Armarcor Gecko on areas that are likely to be exposed to abrasion in a crash. There’s D3O armour at the shoulders, elbows and a level one back protector as standard with the option to upgrade to level two. The jacket has an RRP of £599 and is available in two colour options – black or grey. The trousers have an RRP of £399.99 and are available in three lengths – short, standard and long.
The Cyclone jacket and trousers have 3-layer GORE-TEX in them and a removable thermal liner. The jacket is available in three colour options – black or fluro yellow or grey. There’s D3O armour at the elbows, shoulder, knees and hips plus a level one back protector (you can request to upgrade to level two). The trousers have a 360° zip around them so they can zip on to the jacket. Braces can be added on too. The jacket has an RRP of £399 and the trousers have an RRP of £299.
The Atacama jacket will be added to the range in late 2016. The 3-in-1 jacket has a detachable inner thermal jacket (which can be worn on its own) and D3O armour at the elbows, shoulders and back. It features a level one back protector as standard with the option to upgrade to level two. One of the cool features on this are that the air vents have magnetic closing. The Atacama will be available in black, fluro yellow, grey and sand, and has an RRP of £499. It can also be worn with the Cyclone trousers.
Finally, the Madison jacket is likely to be a hit (and is our favourite out of the lot). Available in black or navy or green with an RRP of £399. It has a similar construction to the Cyclone jacket, but is styled differently.
