Darn Tough Vermont, the number 1 hiking sock brand in the US has brought out some playful sock designs for autumn 2023.
These are the Women’s Northwoods and Men’s Close Encounters socks – both categorised as Micro Crew Midweight Hike Socks.
It’s actually pretty impressive they can weave these patterns and graphics so well – testament to their great weaving facilities at the factory in Vermont.

Darn Tough’s Northwood Midweight with Cushion hike sock features a layered landscape with mountains, trees and a little lit up cabin with wisps of smoke coming from the chimney. Embedded into the landscape are discovery elements such as an owl, a bear and a long spooky walk to the outhouse (this is the first time Darn Tough has knitted a long winding path like this.)
The Northwoods hike sock is a midweight sock in a micro crew height. It features Darn Tough’s cushioning in the footbed, up over the Achilles and around the toes.
