STEVE Birkinshaw is currently three days into his attempt to run across all 214 peaks in the Wainwrights.
In his blog, he says that his planned route is 511km long with 36,000m of ascent. The current record for a continuous route of all 214 tops is held by the legendary Joss Naylor at 7 days 1 hour and 25 minutes – and he did that 27 years ago.
Steve says: “Hopefully I can get close to or beat this time, but there are so many things that can go wrong over this sort of distance that I have no idea what will happen and how fast I can go. All I can do is have a go and see how long it takes.
He is raising money for two MS charities because his younger sister has MS.
And he has the support of Berghaus, who has supplied clothing and kit for his attempt. Live tracking is here so you can see where he is.
Great going Steve.
