WHEN it comes to finding an out-of-the-ordinary retreat, the Cairngorms is full of them.
One of them is this, the Secret Bothy. It’s exact location is only given to guests after they’ve booked it up and it’s not visible from any public road either.
All they will say is that “it is accessed by a short, steep private drive somewhere within the southern perimeter of the Cairngorms National Park”.
Guests are unlikely to be disappointed when they do eventually find the Secret Bothy because it is a boutique cottage surrounded by unspoilt countryside with walks, hikes and cycle routes that start right from the front door.
